Rosemary "Rosie" Bishop

Rosemary “Rosie” Bishop, age 85 of Hamilton, passed away surrounded by family at Gateway Springs Health Campus on Monday, February 24, 2025. She was born in Hamilton, Ohio on February 1, 1940, the daughter of Elmer & Lucille Johns. On July 19, 1958, she married Jim Bishop; and they were married for 62 years before his passing. Jim and Rosemary moved to Florida and lived there for 25 years before moving back to Ohio in 2019 to be near family. Rosemary’s happiest moments were when she was spending time with her family and friends, playing cards, telling stories and laughing. Rosemary was loved by all because God blessed all of us with the most loving, thoughtful and caring soul. Our world is not as bright now with her passing.

Rosemary is survived by her six children, Greg (Judy) Bishop, Brian (Joan) Bishop, Christina (Rick) Huff, David Bishop, Steve (Jackie) Bishop, and Glenn (Janell) Bishop; fourteen grandchildren, Amber (Steve) Heckler, April (Robert) Marshall, Erin (Bill) Boice, Meghan (Joe) Hanke, Patrick (JulieAnne) Calligan, Jacob (Ashley) Bishop, Derek (Jessica) Bishop, Matthew Huff, Jonathan Huff, David (Olessia) Huff, Amanda (Matt) Wiegand, Brittany (Evan) North, Olivia (Andrew) Kreke, and Sophia Bishop; twenty-one great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and daughter-in-law, Darrith Bishop.

The family would like to thank the staff and her friends at Gateway Springs Health Campus for all of the love, friendship and kindness they have given to Rosemary and her family over the last three years!!

Family and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial at St. Julie Billiart Catholic Church, 224 Dayton St., Hamilton, Ohio, on Friday, March 7, 2025 at 10 am with Fr. Jeff Silver, Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Thursday, March 6, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Stephen T. Badin High School or The American Heart Association.
