Roy Glen Porter

Roy Glen Porter, age 69 of Hamilton, passed away at his home on Sunday, November 5, 2023. Roy was born in Hamilton, Ohio on August 29, 1954 to Orville and Lona Porter. He graduated from Taft High School Class of 1972. On March 15, 1975, he married Jenny Murphy. Roy was a truck driver for over 40 years, most recently at Watson Sand and Gravel. He enjoyed fishing, going to Lake Erie, working in his garage, cooking for his grandchildren and above all spending time with his friends and family watching Ohio State and Bengals football.

Roy is survived by his wife of 48 years, Jenny Porter; his sons, Michael Glen (Trisha) Porter and Danny (Heather) Porter; his grandchildren, Casey, Ryan, Allison, Mollie, Tyson, Isabelle and Wyatt; his brothers, Ron and Rick Porter; his sister, Ruby (Mike) Burleson; many nieces and nephews; his brother-in-law, Steve Murphy; his special friends, Rock Rutherford and Dale Shinkle; and his beloved dogs, Sadie and Sammy. Roy was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Donna Johnson; his brother, Steve Porter; his sister-in-law, Taffy Porter; his brother-in-law, Rocky Murphy; his best friends, Kenny Lunsford and Earl Murphy; and his beloved dog, Rusty.

Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave, Hamilton, Ohio, on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 1:30 PM with Pastor Christie Cooling officiating.  Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023 from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Animal Adoption Foundation, Eaton Road Church of God or to Hospice of Hamilton.
