Obituary

Victoria “Red” “Vicky” Ann (Sandlin) Smith, age 62 of Hamilton, OH passed away Saturday November 19, 2022 at 1:28am at Fort Hamilton Hospital surrounded by family and friends following a courageous ten-month battle with lung cancer. Vicky was born on December 23, 1959 to Frank and Virginia (Asher) Sandlin in Hamilton, Ohio. Vicky was the fourth oldest of eight children.

Vicky attended Edgewood High School and worked several years at Meijer. Vicky was always on the go, working on yardwork for herself and neighbors. She loved cooking, going on vacations, playing cards, watching movies, spending time with family and spoiling her grandchildren. She was quick to offer help to anyone in need and had a short temper, loving, kind heart. She would be described as motherly, often taking on that role to those who needed it, when they needed it. She was feisty, outspoken, caring, selfless, brave, giving, social and fun with an incredible laugh.

Vicky was married to Charles “Chuck” Smith 1977-1993 and had three children; Chad, Miranda and Tasha. She then fell in love and spent over 27 years enjoying life with Paul Lunsford.

Vicky will be dearly missed and forever loved by her children, Chad (Cristina Kehl) Smith, Miranda (Robert) Reynolds; Step-daughters, Angie (Darrin Winkler) Zerhusen, Christi Moore, and Misti Lunsford; her son-in-law, Rick Brandenburg; Grandchildren, Kyle Junquera, Charlie Smith, Sophia Junquera, Naomi Smith, Lillian Smith, Meranda (Cody) Freeman, Nick (Jacob) Reynolds, Alisha Reynolds, Anikan Gould, Catherine Reynolds, Zander and Mattea Kehl, Tina (Mike) Hoefker, Samantha Winkler, Taylor (Drew) Tussey, Haley Moore, Brianna Lunsford, Hannah Riddell, Makayla Moore, Jacob Riddell, DJ Winkler and Coleton Rogers; Great-grandchildren, James Harrison III, Liam Junquera, Gabiel Junquera, Atlas Freeman, Hunter, Kyle, Josie, Jaxon, Jaycee, Alayna, Myles; Siblings Terry (Debbie) Sandlin, Debbie Chumley, Kim King, Linda Sandlin, numerous nieces & nephews and special family members Sam (Misty) Unthank and Jeff Sandlin.

Vicky is preceded in death by her father, Frank Sandlin; mother, Virginia Sandlin; daughter, Tasha Smith; twin brothers, Bill and Barney Sandlin; baby brother, Ralph Sandlin, brother-in-law Jerry King, and Fiancé Paul Lunsford; the father of her children, Charles Smith; and a sister-in-law, Michelle Sandlin.

Vicky wished to be cremated and will be laid to rest  at Hickory Flat Cemetery at a later date. She wants her life celebrated and remembered. A reception will be held to honor her at St. Clair Township Community Center located just behind the Administration Building accessed off Summit Street on Friday November 25th, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
