Zella M. Messer

Zella M. Messer, age 94 of Hamilton, passed away at her residence on Wednesday, October 19, 2022. Zella was born in Harlan, Kentucky on May 14, 1928 to Becham Shoemaker and Ethel (Gilbert) Shoemaker.  She was known to everyone as Mom. Zella loved gardening, fishing, and most of all spending time with her family.

Zella is survived by her daughter, Gloria (Eric) Pollock; her granddaughter, Sara Cooper; her great grandchildren, Vincent Cooper and Lilly Henson; her stepson, Robert (Jeanette) Jump Sr.; her siblings, Herbie, Charles, Ruthie, Shannon, and Billy. Zella was preceded in death by her parents, Becham and Ethel  Shoemaker; and her husband, Ledward  Messer; her brothers, Hank, Bentley, Jim, Elmer; her sister, Faye.

Graveside visitation will be held at McDaniel Cemetery, Maple Grove Road, London, Kentucky, 40744 from 12:30PM – 1:00PM on Monday, October 24, 2022.  Graveside service will be held at the cemetery on Monday, October 24, 2022 at 1:00 PM with Dr. Rick Rhodus of West Side Baptist Church officiating.  The family wishes to give a special thank you to Hospice of Cincinnati for their care and support.
